7. Backward Compatibility

  • humanitarian_context is optional — existing applications unaffected
  • Non-derogable rules only activate when humanitarian_context.active = true
  • Applications not operating in IHL contexts see no behavioral change
  • The PROTECTED_PERSON data classification is a new value — existing classification enums retain their meaning
