10. Frame Types
AIGP-VGL defines the following frame types.
10.1 STATUS Frame
A STATUS frame exposes the actor’s current governance state.
Example:

Drone 42 is operating under SAR-17, authority is valid, it is inside its envelope, supervised autonomy is active, scanning is active, and D-DNA reference 8F3A applies.10.2 ENFORCE Frame
An ENFORCE frame communicates a short-lived enforcement state.
Example:
[ENF][@SAR17][ZONE-E][⊘ENTER][⚠COLL][TTL120][↻ALL][#8F3A]Meaning:
For SAR-17, entry into Zone E is prohibited due to collapse risk. The signal is valid for 120 seconds and must be rebroadcast to all affected actors. D-DNA reference 8F3A applies.Normative ENFORCE behavior is specified in RFC-023.
10.3 DISTRESS Frame
A DISTRESS frame indicates that the actor is in a degraded, unsafe, compromised, or assistance-required state.
Example:

Robot 12 is inside the mission envelope at Fireground 4, authority is valid, a medical hazard exists, and the robot is holding position.10.4 CHALLENGE Frame
A CHALLENGE frame indicates that one actor disputes another actor’s displayed or observed governance state.
Example:

Drone 43 challenges Drone 42’s claimed envelope state. Drone 42 claims inside, but Drone 43 observes outside. Escalation is required. D-DNA reference 77B2 applies.10.5 ACK Frame
An ACK frame acknowledges receipt of a VGL or ENFORCE signal.
Example:

Drone 43 acknowledges enforcement broadcast EBS842, verified it, rebroadcast it up to hop level 2, and recorded D-DNA reference AA19.10.6 DENY Frame
A DENY frame communicates refusal or inhibition.
Example:

Drone 42 denies entry into Zone E due to collapse hazard. D-DNA reference 7A44 applies.10.7 COGSAFE Frame
A COGSAFE frame applies to cognitive and psychological harm governance contexts.
Example:
[COG][◎AST][@SESSION993][⚠COG][⊘REINF][↯SUPPORT][#AB73]Meaning:
The assistant detected cognitive safety risk in session 993, must not reinforce the harmful belief trajectory, must escalate toward support, and recorded D-DNA reference AB73.Normative cognitive harm governance is specified in RFC-025.
